Reminder: The Lenawee United Way‘s 2010 Day of Action is just around the corner. There are 24 projects on the docket for that day, two of which concern the Re-Bicycle Lenawee project. We need folks to assist with both a bike collection drive and shop renovation. Any amount of time you can give will be helpful and appreciated.
Concerning the bike drive, I don’t think it’s too early to begin (a) asking around to see who has bikes they’re willing to donate, and (b) consolidating bikes to minimize the gas and time it takes to collect them on the 10th. Keep in mind that the shop needs parts, too. We’re happy to accept bikes that might not be worth repairing but that have usable parts we can strip.
If you have any questions or want to volunteer, post a comment, email me, contact Jim Manley (ph: 517-918-5600), or contact Lisa Riley (517-265-5352) of Family Counseling & Children’s Services in downtown Adrian, the agency sponsoring these projects.
And for those with the means and/or space to do so, please help disseminate and post our flyer.
